Very sad to hear about Davy Jones. I love the Monkees (especially the movie "Head"), and even saw Davy Jones perform live at an Orange County fair years ago. Just sucks that he is gone.

I think I'm more saddened with Davy Jones passing than Whitney Houston

also, just found out, Doug Furnas, best known for his team ups with Phil Lafon/Dan Kroffet in ECW, AJPW, and WWF, had passed away as well, really wished they had the same success here in the US as they did in Japan

Ralph McQuarrie, the concept designer on the original Star Wars trilogy, passed away yesterday at 82.

From George Lucas:
"His genial contribution, in the form of unequalled production paintings, propelled and inspired all of the cast and crew of the original Star Wars trilogy. When words could not convey my ideas, I could always point to one of Ralph's fabulous illustrations and say, 'do it like this'."

Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys died. This is truly lame.

really sucks to hear about Frid although coincidentally, his final role is now part of the remake of Dark Shadows and really sucks about Adam Yauch dying as well, for those wondering how Yauch died, he had been fighting cancer, which I didn't even know he had and apparently Yauch said it was treatable as well

RIP Andy Griffith.

I always enjoyed watching I Love Lucy followed by The Andy Griffith Show on Fox. I even got into Matlock reruns on KDOC. It was interesting seeing Fife back in the saddle with Andy, along with the assistance of Trivette and "Jay Leno". It led to a killer Matlock impersonation by the late great Phil Hartman.

Nobody mentioned it but last month Henry Hill died. Hill's contribution? A life of crime which led to the last great Scorsese movie, Goodfellas.

All they got from Paulie was protection from other guys looking to rip them off. That's what it's all about. That's what the FBI can never understand - that what Paulie and the organization offer is protection for the kinds of guys who can't go to the cops. They're like the police department for wiseguys.
