Whatever happened to...?

Postby rtorres481 » Thu Apr 13, 2006 7:49 am

I've been watching some of the dvd's from the past year and was wondering why some of former PWG mainstays are no longer making appearances. I'm familiar with the Samoa Joe situation and don't expect to see him back any time soon. But does anyone know what the status is of these guys? Would anyone like to see these wrestlers used in PWG more often?

Hook Bomberry: The one-time regular tag team partner of Topgun Talwar is now nowhere to be seen in PWG.

Mr Excitement: Is he semi-retired? Just under a year ago, he announced that he was coming out of retirement to face Joey Ryan. He has since competed sporadically.

Hardkore Kidd: He seems to have star quality and does a great job of selling for the smaller wrestlers. Why isn't he used more often?

Fergal Devitt: Made a single appearance and hasn't been back.

Dimitri Maskarsky: See Fergal Devitt.

Taro: He sometimes provides commentary of the dvd's. I'm assuming that he's retired.

Charles Mercury: I believe he was a regular in the past, but hasn't appeared at all in 2006.

Petey Williams: Does he mainly accept bookings for other promotions? Where else does he wrestle at besides TNA?

Ricky Reyes: I think I heard that he moved out of the area.

TARO is retired. Ricky Reyes lives in Philly. Petey Williams sucks. I think Excitement is quasi-retired. I believe Hook is hurt. Devitt is in Japan. Maskarsky apparently sucked. Mercury is insane.

Hook Bomberry: An odd case. It appears he lost his PWG spot after his injury. I think Hook is really good when he wants to be. But he seems happier at porn conventions then he does wrestling (they discuss Hook on the "Teen Outreach Summit" commentary) I think a motivated Hook in more serious role could be useful in PWG (I REALLY disliked his comedy work in "Gunning For Hookers")

Mr Excitement: Appears to be Semi-retired yes. His match with TJ a few shows back was really good. Makes a great utility worker for PWG if they ever need him.

Hardkore Kidd: HKK is solid, but I think the problem is really making room for him on the cards. As far as PWG goes, I think his size may actually work against him. Making him the odd man out.

Fergal Devitt: I think Fergal is a great wrestler (who has serious breakout potential) But you won't be seeing him in PWG for a while because he's currently working in Japan for 3 months.

Dimitri Maskarsky: His performance at "Teen Outreach" didn't really set the world on fire. Maybe he was just rusty.

Taro: Yeah, he has been retired since 2003 due to injuries.

Charles Mercury: I'm a big fan of Mercury, don't know why they stopped booking him (it seems like he has trouble catching breaks) I'd like to see him back.

Petey Williams: Believe I read on here(?) that he didn't like the travel to SoCal. Can't say I've really missed him on the cards.

Ricky Reyes: Yeah, he moved to the East Coast. He's someone who added a lot to the cards.

I really hope PWG would Hardkore Kidd again personally but my question is why PWG stop booking Tommy Williams/Funky Billy Kim, Lil' Cholo, and Apollo Kahn?

That sounds like bullshit.

Also, I believe Hook Bomberry is busy trying to break into the porn world as a camera guy last time I heard.

Hook Bomberry just came back from injury. He wrestled for EWF on Sunday against Joey Harder in a very good match.

Wait, you went to EWF instead of going to PWG? If you did, wtf is wrong with you?
