The Wrestlereunion weekend was a great deal for $49, primarily due to the show PWG put on Saturday night. I was hoping for more vendors at the Fanfest but recognized the primary focus there would be on autographs & photo-ops for those who were interested. Highspots did have some very nice deals and I was able to get ahold of some stuff I'd been looking for. Another high point of the weekend was getting to talk with several groups of fans who were there to have fun with pro-wrestling.

I wouldn't want to rip ROH here, but I do have to say that there show came across as very underwhelming. A lot of people were calling the dance improv sequence during the ring break as the highlight of the night. It was for me, namely because it was about the only point in the show where there was fun involved. Kurt Russellreunion blended many fun moments amidst some really great wrestling.
From top to bottom the Kurt Russellreunion card has us cheering and loving the show. It also helped to be sitting around a couple of groups who weren't trying to get themselves over.
-The 8 Person Opener was the perfect way to get the crowd going. Really hoping the So-Cal regulars get to move up a little bit in 2010 and wrestle some of the veteran talent. It'd also be great to see some women competitors brought in to face LeRae & Von Eerie, even though they are doing a good job matching up against the men. LTP is so over it's great.
-Tornado vs. Crazy was probably the only disappointment of the night. Crazy didn't seem that into it. Tornado getting the win was easily the right choice.
-Steen vs. Richards was tremendous. Kevin Steen really deserves the MVP award for this weekend. I expected this to be a brutal match but was suprised at how much chicanery they fit in there. Can't wait to see the drumset stuff on dvd.
-Who cares about London, Kendrick owned the ring last night. The fire he showed throughout the night had me believing he hated the Bucks. The match was very strong, but Kendrick's frequent random outbursts of violence on the Bucks while London was in the ring put it on another level.
-All 3 guys in the main event made for a good mix of styles and put on a great match. I've seen enough small indy shows with a big name in the main event to be wary of RVD's participation here. He picked up the win, but he also took a lot of offense from Hero & Strong and all three felt like potential winners. Wish Hero would've won, glad he didn't take the fall.
Can't wait for the next PWG show. If some of the attendees from this weekend come back for future shows it could be really great for PWG. Just please don't ever bring that band back. Failing that, they should use that same song for every wrestler's entrance and just change the lyrics.
