Did anyone else hear about the XPW 10 year Anniversary Show?

Postby DjEn3rgy21 » Tue Jun 09, 2009 2:23 am

I heard it, and I couldn't believe my eyes or ears when someone told me about it. I can't wait!!!! I remember going to the first XPW shows at the RESEDA COUNTRY CLUB back in the day. That shit was amazing!!!! Especially the Death Match Tournament. OMG so much blood and sex!!! Fuck the PG Wrestling!!!! I want to see that again!!!

Im' so there!!!! Anyone else???

Aside from PWG, XPW was one of my favorites for the longest time.

Cheers

I wouldn't say shitty. It was more for the extreme and took time to start off. I remember the fallen angel competing at the very first XPW show as well as many others like HOMELESS JIMMY, SUPREME, KID KAOS, DYNAMITE D, "White Trash" Johnny Webb and many others. It was a start and quickly grew. They had some great matches. Some weren't as great but then again name some organizations who have had flawless shows. Thats just not possible.

I can't wait though.

I still have my old photos, including the ones of the porn stars flashing eveyrone. Ahh those were the days, SEX, BLOOD and HARDCORE Wrestling!!!

haha thanks I was trying to forget "THE JUICE" lol

Yeah those were funny in the later years of XPW haha

Once they started bringing in the old WCW guys it did kind of fade into a different direction.

But at least the major players kept it up.

haha The Juice was a bit watered down....hahahaha

I'm not a huge fan of that garbage wrestling stuff, and thought XPW was low rate.. But, the only highlight from that promotion was from a dvd I borrowed from a friend, and during a Juvi promo, it sub-titled everything he said. I thought that was friggin' gold.

It wasn't all bad. Alot was great actually. Plus Kriss Kloss's Commentary sometimes was hilarious. Along with Larry Rivera. They were just like any new company. They hit their high point and then their low points.

It was great and honestly the shows were full of energy when I went. I witnessed some insane raw stuff. Most of the people we see now made a start in this organization as well. I remember seeing some of the final appearances of people like THE PITBULLS and Big Dick Dudley. I know everyone has their opinion and all though. But I wouldn't go as far as calling it garbage, just because it was formed in a different light.

By "garbage wrestling," I mean the hardcore, ultra-violent, whatever else falls in that category. XPW just wasn't my cup of tea, neither was a lot of the original ECW, but there were parts I enjoyed.

apparently nobody here went to "Cold Day In Hell"? Aside from the Hawx/Jack/Scorpio 3 way + the Necro/Supreme Deathmatch it was a pretty horrible show. Still haven't seen the dvd though...

I have the DVD that Necro vs Supreme match made me cringe when he stepped on the thumb tacks. Necro was a brave man for doing that one. Ouch.

tickets are on sale, but no matches listed.

From their site-
"talent Supreme, Angel, Luke Hawx, Vinnie Massaro, Homeless Jimmy, Carnage and more."

i wonder if they'd take a chance on Sabu again...apparently he's taking bookings

i was at the xpw show and aside from new jack's speech and the main event it was a pretty terrible show. waste of time and gas. supreme looked as if he swallowed a wrestling ring. it was also pretty cool when the sandman gave me some of his beer.

i'm going to wait a bit + see what matches they can come up with. The venue is somewhat close to my house though, so that's always a plus

Yeah not matches announced but the Arena Cafe is the venue they have planned. I'm going for sure. I loved XPW. I'm sure they will involve some PWG guys like they did in the last show. Along with many old favorites. There are some XPW matches they never televised nor put on DVD's that were great. Either way it was another piece of wrestling history on the West Coast since the east Dominated with ECW. I was kind of happy we had it for a bit. I was bummed I missed COLD DAY IN HELL but not this time. I'm there plus I can park for free at my job which is not so far away.

I'm sure we'll see a lot of So Cal talent there along with many other old and new characters.

Supreme Vs. Angel in a DeathMatch has been announced....Joey Ryan, Scorpio Sky, Youth Suicide, Pogo, Carnage, + "{graduates from the XPW Asylum / Santino Bros school" are also mentioned. You would think that they'd have said if they were bringing in any big names by now.
