Street Fighter IV

Anyone get a chance to play it yet? I can't believe part IV is finally here after all these years and I thought I would never get excited over another Street Fighter game again. I'll be getting my hands on it tomorrow.

I played it with a couple of my friends who are diehard SF fans earlier today. Despite all of them having the stance that SF is better in 2D than 3D, everyone of them liked/loved the game.

I played it a few times at the arcade, I think it's ok. I was supposed to get it today but every store my brother went to said he would have to reserve it and pick it up tomorrow. *shrugs* Hopefully I'll enjoy the game more on the PS3.

Well of course they do, not all games are just going to go to consoles.

And I have been playing mine since I got it. I'm having trouble unlocking some of the characters though. Like Seth and Akuma.... but other than that the game is wikkid and the online play is fun.

Cheers

It is kind of surprising to me as well. I would kind of figure that SF IV would be a straight port to the home consoles since the arcade business is dying. The only arcade close to me, Pac Man arcade, is long gone . I only know of one other arcade in Huntington Park but I haven't been there in a few years.

Anyway, the game was great. It has all the classic characters and feel but just with updated graphics.

Oh I have a few arcades near me. Some are being taken out but others like the two by my place had it way before it went to console.

Since then I've loved it, I love playing online too. Makes things more interesting.

It's weird because arcades are very much alive in Japan. In any city there will be a few "game centers" with about 4 floor's worth of games. Someone should build one of those things over here.

Oh how I wish it was like that out here. Games since consoles were invented are just non existent outside much as they used to be.

I do love my arcades though. Especially with so many games out that most people don't even know about or most likely ever will.

There's a pretty decent Arcade on Vermont Ave right across the street from LACC here in Hollywood-land. If you take the subway, just get off on Vermont/Santa Monica and it's right across the street. They have parking in the back, plenty of games (lots of pinball which is why i'm always there), and they got the new Street Fighter awhile back- usually a crowd standing around watching it as well. Oh yeah- definitely sign up for their mailing list and once or twice a month they'll send you an email that you can print out + cash in for $3 worth of tokens!

There's a arcade across the street from Mt. Sac Community College that i go to when I have time off between classes, so that's where i play most of my SF4.

I know where that one is, I'm usually at FFA when I have time to go. That one however is a lot closer to work if I ever decide to go after.
