Generico and Strong join Richards in King of Europe Cup

WrestleMag.com announced that El Generico and Roderick Strong will be joining Davey Richards in the upcoming King of Europe Cup tournament this spring. Davey, as you all know, will be representing PWG after defeating Rocky Romero at "Passive Hostility" in December. Strong will be representing Full Impact Pro, having been handpicked to represent them in the tournament. Generico will be representing the Canadian-based International Wrestling Syndicate after winning a 3-Way on January 20 involving Kid Kamikaze and Jagged to qualify.

Pro Wrestling Unplugged had a situation in regards to who will be representing their promotion in the tournament. Though "Pitbull" Gary Wolfe won the 4-Way Steel Cage match against PWU Champion Devon Moore, Johnny Kashmere and Ian Rotten, also on January 20, to qualify, one of the original participants Trent Acid did not compete because he missed his flight from Mexico. It was decided that on February 24, Wolfe and Acid will finally decide PWU's representative in a Philly Street Fight at the ECW Arena.

Chris Hero will be representing Combat Zone Wrestling, Matt Sydal for IWA: Mid-South, and Martin Stone (who defeated Ricky Reyes on PWG's European Vacation stop in England) for Real Quality Wrestling. Stone won an 8-man tournament to qualify defeating Iceman, Aviv Mayaan and Spud (the latter two also at the European Vacation show), as well as being crowned the new RQW Champion.

Promotions who have pledged to participate in the tournament include TNA, Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, 1PW, IPW: UK, CHIKARA, German-based wXw, and Premier Promotions. One more promotion is expected to participate to complete 16.

The King of Europe Cup Tournament will take place live from The Liverpool Olympia in Liverpool, England on April 28 and 29. Tickets go on sale this Monday at noon UK time. Ticket information is available over at WrestleMag.com and http://www.kingofeuropecup.com.
