Macho Man and WWF's falling out

Postby CheMateo » Wed Dec 05, 2007 10:19 pm

I've always wondered why Savage and Vince haven't worked together again. Vince has pretty much brought back all the old acts for a nostalgic appearance. Does that wrestling urban legend about Savage and Stephanie have anything to do with preventing Savage from popping up on TV?

Supposedly Savage had sexual relations with Stephanie.

I saw this on a few boards:

According to the Observer, this is the planned list of DVD sets to be released in 2008:

2/12 -- The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin
3/25 -- Triple H: The King of Kings
5/6 -- Evolution of the Hardys
6/3 -- The Rock
7/8 -- Best of Starrcade
8/5 -- 20-disc SummerSlam Anthology
8/5 -- Life and Times of Mr. Perfect
11/4 -- Edge
11/18 -- RANDY SAVAGE: MACHO MADNESS

12/9 -- STING

Finally WWE recognizes the Macho Man.

Wow, I really felt like it was hopeless to expect any sort of Macho DVD. I'm also surprised to see a Sting set in the works. I hope they include his work with Cactus Jack and Abdullah The Butcher.

Well so much for that....

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Vince McMahon has cancelled the Randy Savage and Sting DVDs that were listed for a 2008 release.

The DVDs were originally scheduled after WWE producer Kevin Dunn's television department released a list of planned 2008 releases to distributors. However, they did so with out the permission of Vince McMahon and the creative team. When McMahon found out about the plans for the Randy Savage & Sting DVDs, he immediately nixed both projects.

The DVDs got on the drawing board because McMahon didn't think they were making enough first-run DVD releases. He wanted DVDs on new major legends. However, the problem is that they've pretty much through everyone who would be marketable from the past. And the feeling is anyone pre-1984 such as Bruno Sammartino, that audience is so far gone that they wouldn't sell. They've pretty much run through every major star of the past 23 years, with the exception of Sting and Randy Savage.

It's not exactly known as to why McMahon nixed the Savage DVD, but it's been long rumored that there is some bad blood between the two individuals. Regarding the cancellation of the Sting DVD, it's because he's currently under contract to TNA.

ya i know what you mean about the savage dvd.you guys want to know something funny.the only reason why the wwe was gonna release those dvd was because they ran out of big names to make dvds of and were trying to get more big names.they think if they go past 1978 i believe it was no one would buy the dvds

As far as major stars go, has the Rock gotten a real nice set yet that I just missed, or are they counting the small sets they released when he was still with the company when they say they don't have anyone left to work with?
