Is There any Road Trip to ROH planned?

Postby atox » Sat Aug 11, 2007 9:17 am

I think that alll the fans that want to go should all pile in like a van or somethine and have a little (okay maybe a little long) road trip so we can go see ROH, would anyone want to do this?

Is this in regards to any ROH show or that wrestling convention in San Francisco that ROH will be a part of?

It's in San Fran from Oct 19th-21st. It's at the cow palace. I know CZW, Chikara, APW and ROH are taking part. I'm sure there'll be more. A lot of names are scheduled to appear like Steve Austin, Goldberg, Roddy Piper and a ton of other and independent names. You can check out their website http://www.wrestlefanfest.com/index2.html

I'd enjoy seeing an ROH show live, but there is no way I'm going all the way to San Fran. Especially when everyone that I enjoy in ROH (except Mike Quackenbush) wrestles for PWG anyway. The "ROH" label really doesn't mean anything to me and the show will probably have BJ Whitmer on it, which kills the deal for me altogether.

But PWInsider supposedly mentioned plans for another CA ROH show on that Friday. IF in that is in SoCal or someplace close, I'd consider going.

Myself and a bunch of my friends have already examined the costs of all the travelling options. At a minimum, riding the train from LA to San Fran would cost about $120-$160 per person, and would require changing trains 2-3 times, and about 10-14 hours of travel. The train is a bad option.

Driving would be pretty cheap. Maybe a rental, and then the cost of gas which could be upwards of $200 split between several people. Not bad. Though you'd still have to spend about 10+ hours on the road each way, and if you take the grapevine there's always the possibility of a wreck or the road being washed out which could strand you for hours.

However a friend of mine claims to have found airline tickets that would be less than $100 round trip. If it's possible to book one of these flights I'm taking it as it would be worth saving a half day of travelling on the road.

In any case I can't wait to go as I love the Jambalaya at Lou's down at the Fisherman's Wharf. Plus the food in Chinatown... amazing. I might gain 100lbs if I go on this trip.

Right you are sir! I still remember arriving in SF and starving. Got to a rental car and headed straight to Chinatown. Oh the food was amazing. I still remember that meal very fondly.

I don't think I've been to Lou's. But have you been to the place with the awesome soup and the soup bowls are made of bread. Very good stuff. I know George Steinbrenner is a big fan too.
Let me know if you see the World Famous Bushman if you go back to the wharf. I wonder if he is still alive.

Do you like Boudin? They have good bread there and I always like to bring home a novelty bread made like a turtle.

Make a stop at ZACHARY'S PIZZA. Great pizza pies!

If there was a chance that I could have a threesome with Peggy Bundy and Marcy Darcy, I'd fly out there. I figure I figure I can straighten Ms. Darcy out.

Also, if Bob Rooney, Ike, Griff, and Officer Dan go, I'd be there in a heartbeat, even if it means being around a bunch of wrestling fans for an entire weekend.

I wonder if the promoter is going to attempt to swerve the fans and instead of Bud have Seven show up.

Do you think Miranda Veracruz de la Hoya Cardinale will be covering the event?

Possibly. I heard though that Bud may bring Marcy's niece Amber with him.

He was going to but he can't afford the patch kit. She's on the DL right now.
