4-Way Championship Title Match   Hero vs PAC

2008 has been a rough year for the World Champions of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. To start out the year, Bryan Danielson faced, and was defeated by, a surprise challenger to the World title. That challenger was Low Ki, who had his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title reign cut short by a knee injury. Low Ki demanded that a one night tournament be held to crown a new champion, vowing to return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla first after his recovery to reclaim the World title. In the one night tournament, Human Tornado prevailed. Though Tornado was in the midst of a heated rivalry with Chris Hero, Tornado always seemed to maintain the upper hand, and it looked like his rain would be long and fruitful. That is until May, when Human Tornado injured his knee. Tornado refused to abdicate the title and held on to it until July, when in a World Championship Title Guerrilla Warfare match inside a steel cage, Chris Hero defeated Human Tornado for the title.

In his first defense of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title, Chris Hero has a monumental task ahead of himself: a single fall, 4-way match for the title. All three challengers, Eddie Kingston, Low Ki, and Necro Butcher, have staked their claim as the number one contender, and rather than holding a series of matches to determine the true Number One Contender to the title, Commissioner Dino Winwood has decided to let these four sort it out themselves. This means the real winners are the fans in attendance at the first night of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All Star Weekend 7!

The road to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship was a long one for Chris Hero, but now that he has finally won the title, he has made it clear that he will defend against anyone that wants a shot. One man that was very quick to accept the offer was "The Man That Gravity Forgot" PAC. While PAC has spent the majority of 2008 in Japan competing for Dragon Gate, The Man That Gravity Forgot would love to have a reason to return to sunny Southern California on a regular basis, and the World Championship would be just such a reason! While everyone, Chris Hero included, would love to see PAC back in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla more often, its doubtful that Hero would give up his newly won title in order to facilitate PAC's full-time return.

If Chris Hero retains the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship on Night 1 of All Star Weekend 7, the title will be on the line in this match. If Hero loses the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship on Night 1 of All Star Weekend 7, this match will still take place.

Age of the Fall vs. The Young Bucks   Low Ki vs Rocky Romero

In their first meeting at All Star Weekend 6, the Age of the Fall defeated The Young Bucks in an exciting, fast paced matchup that showed many fans that these were two teams to watch. Eight months later, these two teams will meet again, though the circumstances surrounding this second matchup are vastly different than the first. The main difference, of course, is that Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs are Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions, winning the titles in a shocking victory at Life During Wartime. Prior to winning the titles, many fans wrote off the Age of the Fall as just another tag team on the independent scene, but with their title win in July, they proved they deserve a spot in the top tier of tag teams.

Less evident since All Star Weekend 6 is the difference in Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks. The brothers Jackson were a hit with fans in Southern California, as well as with fans around the world, as evidenced by their multiple tours with Dragon Gate. But connecting with the Japanese fans in not all they did; The Young Bucks took full advantage of their rare opportunity and used every second overseas as a way to hone their craft and improve their abilities. While both teams have taken great steps since January, only one team will prevail at All Star Weekend 7.

To of the most hard-hitting men in professional wrestling make their return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla at All Star Weekend 7, and on the second night of the event they will meet each other face to face. Despite Low Ki's knee injury in early 2008, his future in the sport was never uncertain, and by utilizing his trademark focus, tenacity, and sheer force of will, he made a full and complete recovery, and is ready to return to active competition in professional wrestling. And the first place he will return to is Pro Wrestling Guerrilla!

Rocky Romero, on the other hand has been suffering from a fate (possibly) worse than a knee injury: an extended stay in Mexico! Though Romero has found great success in Mexico, he returns to America to compete at All Star Weekend 7. Depending on the results of the first night of All Star Weekend 7, the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion could be on the line in this match, and Rocky Romero could experience more success in one weekend in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla than he has in months of competing in Mexico!

International 6-Man   Age of the Fall vs. Jack Evans & Roderick Strong

In professional wrestling, it is extremely rare for a match to come along which will shake even the most jaded fan from their sensory overloaded stupor. This is that rare match. A perfect storm of speed, agility, and power, and the only place to see it is in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Six world class athletes from across the globe on the same card will turn the heads of some, but these six men together in the same match is a cause for celebration by all.

Not much more needs to be said other than El Generico, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen, and Susumu Yokosuka will take on Jack Evans, "The Man That Gravity Forgot" PAC, and Roderick Strong on the first night of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All Star Weekend 7.

A match that was originally scheduled to take place at Life During Wartime will now occur at All Star Weekend 7, but with the roles possibly reversed! The Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team titles currently reside with Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs, the Age of the Fall, but that was not the case in early July. Then-champions Roderick Strong and Jack Evans were set to defend the titles at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's fifth anniversary event, but Evans was unable to attend, so Roderick Strong was given the chance to pick a replacement partner for one night only. This proved to be disastrous for Roderick Strong, as he and El Generico could just not muster the chemistry to defeat the long standing tag team of Black and Jacobs.

Now that Evans and Strong are reunited, they are ready for the chance to reclaim the titles lost at Life During Wartime. However, the Age of the Fall are ready to battle any challengers to their titles, and if they are able to retain the Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks on Night 1, Black and Jacobs will gladly put the titles on the line once again on Night 2 of All Star Weekend 7!

Alex Koslov vs. Rocky Romero   Eddie Kingston vs. Necro Butcher

While twenty-five years ago a match like this would have been unthinkable, the fall of communism in the USSR and the rise of capitalism have lead to a world where countries like Russia and Cuba are able compete against one another within the borders of the United States! Like the late Yakov Smirnoff used to say says "What a country!" (Note: Yakov Smirnoff is alive and well, and performs five times weekly in Branson, MO. Dial 1-800-WHAT-A-COUNTRY for ticket information) Luckily for the fans of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, communism's demise will be their gain when Alex Koslov takes on Rocky "Azúcar" Romero at the first night of All Star Weekend 7!

"What's this? A possible Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match featuring two men that aren't current World Champion Chris Hero? How is that possible?!" the inner monologue of thousands of fans rhetorically asks. Just you wait and see. One of these two men may be World Champion on Night 2 of All Star Weekend 7, but will that really change the complexion of this match? Will Eddie Kingston, who always fights like a man with nothing to lose, change his approach to wrestling, and/or possibly life, if he becomes Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion? Does Necro Butcher forsake the violent, devil may care style that has brought him so much success (and pain. and injury) if he holds the title? Or will these two leviathans attempt to destroy each other, no matter what is on the line?

Candice LeRae vs. Chuck Taylor   The Young Bucks vs. El Generico and Kevin Steen

The Dynasty and Los Luchas have had their battles in the past, but due to the large spotlight being placed on tag team wrestling at All Star Weekend 7, it's almost impossible to calculate the value of a victory in this match! Even though all of the World Tag Team Championship, and possible Championship title matches are spoken for during All Star Weekend 7, what happens after? Phoenix Star and Zokre are still looking for their first reign as Tag Team Champions in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and a victory over The Dynasty would most certainly put them in the running. Former World Champions Scott Lost and Joey Ryan have been doing everything they can to get another shot at the World Tag Team Titles, and this match on the first night of All Star Weekend 7 could be the exact opportunity that they need.

Despite both of these teams finding great success around the world, many people would agree that Matt and Nick Jackson, El Generico, and "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen made their most lasting impression on wrestling fans in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. El Generico and Kevin Steen, while not from Southern California (to be fair, Tijuana is Southern California-adjacent), both call Pro Wrestling Guerrilla their home, and have used their experiences here to find great success all over the world. Following in the footsteps of Generico and Steen are Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, who are Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's most recent break out sensations. With the possibility of becoming Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions on Night 1 of All Star Weekend 7, The Young Bucks have an opportunity to follow even closer in the footsteps of former champions Generico and Steen. However, will "The Generic Luchadore" and "Mr. Wrestling" take kindly to The Young Bucks' fast track to success? Or will Generico and Steen see these whippersnappers breathing down their necks and decide to take them down a couple notches to show that they're not yesterday's news just yet?

Candice LeRae vs. Chuck Taylor   The Dynasty vs Vin Gerard & Chuck Taylor

Prior to All Star Weekend 7, Chuck Taylor stated that if he was going to make his debut in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, it would have to be against one of the best the company had to offer. This sent the company management scrambling to find an acceptable opponent for Taylor, one of the hottest prospects on the independent wrestling scene. While many names were thrown around, one name kept popping up over and over again: Necro Butcher. When told of the management's plan, Taylor laughed nervously and then stated that Necro's win-loss record simply wasn't good enough in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and that he would much rather face someone with a record around .500. While plenty more names were offered up, Taylor turned them all down until finally saying "Listen, you guys are creative. Think outside the box. I want to face the best Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has to offer. Just not the best dude."

Luckily for everyone, Candice LeRae was perfectly willing to face Chuck Taylor at All Star Weekend 7, and intends to show everyone how dangerous it is to underestimate someone with a .500 record.

Much like Night 1 of All Star Weekend 7, a strong performance here could put The Dynasty in good standing to challenge for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. Scott Lost and Joey Ryan would like nothing more than to once again make their trips to the "Pay Windah" and feel the weight that Championship Bonus in their envelopes (and you can really feel the weight, all Championship Bonuses are paid in nickels).

Vin Gerard and Chuck Taylor, on the other hand, are battling not only The Dynasty, but the fans of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla as well, whose reactions could very easily throw a tag team off their game. While the general impression of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla management is that Gerard and Taylor have a lot to prove at All Star Weekend 7, the feeling from both of these men is a resounding "Don't care." Chuck Taylor has made it a point to prove he is not in wrestling to make friends or fans; he is intent on hurting the feelings of as many people as possible, be it through phsyical, verbal, or emotional abuse. Troubled youngster Vin Gerard cares even less about the feelings of the fans, and would just like to manifest his emotional pain as physical pain in the bodies of his opponents. While a psychiatrist may have a field day picking apart the mental states of participants in this match, they will not have an opportunity to do so, because the action will be non-stop when these two teams collide on Night 2 of All Star Weekend 7!

Vin Gerard vs. Scorpio Sky   Alex Koslov vs. Susumu Yokosuka
Professional wrestling has brought its fair share of trauma down on Scorpio Sky, from physical injuries to betrayals by supposed allies and career-threatening injuries to close friends, Sky has seen it all. Life, on the other hand, has brought its trauma down on Vin Gerard. Abandoned in the jungle as a young boy and raised by wolves, Gerard spent most of his youth in the company of a friendly bear and curmudgeonly panther who were influential in teaching him important lessons about life that are universally shared across all species. Gerard would later leave the jungle, and along with Paul Allen, founded the company known today as Microsoft. Gerard has recently stepped down from his position as chairman of the company to focus on professional wrestling and the charitable trust founded by he and his wife, Melinda. Apparently, Vin Gerard thinks it is funny to fabricate the information in the bio he provides to professional wrestling companies, relishing in the embarrassment those companies may feel when they publicize this false information.

As Alex Koslov becomes a household name in Mexico, Susumu Yokosuka is steadily rising to the top tier of Dragon Gate in Japan. Now that Yokosuka makes his return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla at All Star Weekend 7, he plans on returning home from his American sortie with two big victories. Two victories which could boost his career exponentially, especially if one of the two come at the expense of Alex Koslov. However, Koslov did not reach the upper echelon of the Lucha Libre world by being a pushover, and a victory over an internationally recognized star like Yokosuka could only increase Koslov's value in the eyes of the Mexican fans. Both men stand to gain much in this match, but only one will come out on top in the end. While a loss would not devastate either man's career, a victory would very nearly be invaluable.
